I added a product but it did not get published

If a product you added is not showing on your live site yet, it is almost always a missing or still-resolving affiliate tag, and here is how to fix it.

2 min

You added a product, but it is not showing up on your live site. Do not worry: the product is safe in your catalog, and in most cases this is a quick fix. Before a product can go live, Bravery runs a small publish check to make sure every link on your site can actually earn you a commission.

Why a product stays unpublished

For a product to publish, two things have to be true at the same time:

  • Your Amazon affiliate tag is connected and resolved for the product's market (US, UK, or DE).
  • The product has a valid affiliate link built from that tag.

By far the most common reason a product does not publish is that your affiliate tag is not connected yet, or it was just added and is still resolving. Resolving takes a few minutes after you save the tag, so a product added in that window can look stuck.

Affiliate tags are per market. A US tag does not cover the UK or Germany. If a product is for the UK market, it needs your Amazon.com UK tag connected, not just your US one.

How to fix it

  1. Open your panel and go to Settings, then Earnings.
  2. Check that an affiliate tag is connected for the market of the product you added. The format looks like yourname-20.
  3. If the tag is missing, paste it in and save. Wait a few minutes for it to resolve.
  4. Go back to the product and use the retry or re-publish action. The publish check runs again with the resolved tag.
  5. Refresh your live site. The product should now appear.
Adding a product costs 0 credits, and so does retrying the publish. You will never lose credits fixing an unpublished product.

One thing this is not: if the product shows as Temporarily out of stock, that is a separate price issue, not a publish block. That product is still in your catalog and its price refreshes on its own later.

If your tag is connected and resolved and the product still will not publish after a retry, reach out to support and we will take a look for you.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the affiliate tag take to resolve?

Usually a few minutes after you save it in Settings, then Earnings. Once it resolves, retry the product and it will publish.

Does retrying a publish cost credits?

No. Adding a product and retrying its publish are both free and do not use any of your monthly content credits.
