Amazon Creator Connections Explained for Affiliate Site Owners

Serdar D.Yazan Serdar D.Kurucu, usebravery21 Ağu 2026 · 9 dk okuma

There is a layer of Amazon commission that Amazon does not set. A brand selling on Amazon sets it, posts it as a campaign with a rate and an end date, and a qualifying creator opts in. Amazon calls that marketplace Creator Connections, and in the advertising console the campaign type has its own name, Affiliate+.

The awkward part is who counts as a creator. On August 21, 2026 I read both sides of this program on Amazon's live pages, the brand side in the advertising help center and the creator side on Amazon's creator pages. They do not agree. One calls it free to join for influencers and associates. The advertising help page requires Influencer Program membership and a Creator Stars tier, and Amazon's creator page gates the bonus at Bronze.

Below is what Amazon publishes about the mechanics, and where it publishes nothing. Which program deserves your time is a separate question with its own article, Amazon Influencer Program vs Associates. This is the layer above both.

What Creator Connections is, in Amazon's words

Amazon's help center defines it in two sentences. Creator Connections is Amazon's marketplace service that connects brands on Amazon with Amazon Creators, and the service lets brands offer bonus commissions in exchange for qualifying sales generated by content created by Amazon Creators. The brand picks eligible products, sets the rate and dates, allocates a budget.

What follows is a shop window rather than a negotiation. Amazon tells brands they cannot choose specific creators, that the campaign is visible to all eligible creators, and that they pay only for qualified sales. It splits that audience into three named groups: publishers, naming Hearst, Condé Nast, BuzzFeed and Dotdash Meredith; influencers; and deal sites and bloggers, illustrated with Slickdeals and The Points Guy. Written material on a domain you control is no afterthought.

The bonus rides on top of the rate card

On the creator side Amazon files two offers under one heading, ways to earn on top of your standard rates. Affiliate+ pays a bonus commission for qualified sales, available at Bronze tier and above. Sponsored Products for Creators pays for driving qualified clicks, available at Gold and above. Payment for clicks has no counterpart in the standard program, and Amazon publishes little else about it.

The standard category schedule is untouched and still lives in Amazon affiliate commission rates. The bonus is arithmetic on top: commission is calculated on the net price the customer paid, after coupons and discounts, with no base, platform or daily fees, and the brand pays only when a customer orders that brand's SKU.

That last clause hides a trap. If another seller takes the featured offer and the customer orders that seller's SKU, Amazon says the order is not attributed and no commission is charged, even on a purchase your link produced.

The campaign figures Amazon publishes

Amazon states its campaign limits in plain numbers, every one of them read on August 21, 2026.

What the brand setsWhat Amazon states
Campaign duration30 to 365 days
Campaign budgetMinimum $5,000, the cap on creator commissions
Commission rateMinimum 10% for qualifying sales
Products per campaignUp to 1,200 ASINs
Message to the creator5,000 characters, with required disclosures inside
Edit or cancel window24 hours from creation; afterwards only the end date or budget can rise
Attribution windowPurchase within 24 hours of the click
Sales finalizationWithin 7 days of the campaign ending, based on whether products shipped

Two of those numbers describe the room. A $5,000 budget floor means this is no channel a small seller opens on a whim, and a 10% rate floor means an offer cannot start below double digits. The 1,200 ASIN ceiling says catalog push, not one product.

Attribution is a 24 hour window, and clicks are not the ledger

A sale is attributed when the customer purchases within 24 hours of clicking a creator's link. Then Amazon adds an odd clause: orders may be attributed even when clicks show as zero, because content submission by creators is not mandatory for attribution. My reading is that opting in arms the attribution rather than the publishing, but no page read that day describes the mechanism.

What the brand sees is thinner than you would assume. These orders are not linked to the order management center, order-level tracking is unavailable, and reports show aggregate campaign data only. Charges surface on the Amazon Advertising invoice under the campaign title, alongside Sponsored Ads as a separate line item, billed every 30 days. Amazon covers the brand's reporting in detail; the creator pages read the same day describe no equivalent view.

The door is in Associates Central, the eligibility list is not

Amazon's creator-facing page gives a location, and it is a familiar one. Find Creator Connections in Associates Central under the Promotion tab, it says, and get started by opting into the campaigns you want. That is the panel a site owner already signs into.

The advertising help page, describing the same program from the brand's chair, lists what creators must be, and the three conditions are joined rather than alternatives: bloggers, publishers or content creators with a qualifying website or mobile app, or influencers with an established social following; participating in the Amazon Influencer Program; at Bronze tier or higher in Creator Stars.

The first condition is generous and the next two are not. A qualifying website satisfies the opening line and does nothing for you on the second, which names a separate program with its own application. The brand's conditions decide which marketplace this happens in at all: a US advertising account based in the United States, China or Hong Kong, plus Brand Registry status. If your pages span marketplaces, as in running an affiliate site across countries, that is the constraint.

Two Amazon pages, two answers

Both columns were read the same day, from pages Amazon maintains itself.

Amazon reconciles these nowhere I could find. The generous reading is that the word associates there carries weight it never earns. The unhelpful truth is that Amazon's marketing page and help center send a site owner away with different answers.

Creator Stars is the gate, and its thresholds are not public

Since one condition is a tier, that program matters here. Amazon says creators eligible and in good standing with the Amazon Influencer Program are enrolled automatically, with criteria of at least 100 link clicks or at least $1 in shipped revenue in the previous quarter. There are four tiers, scored on shipped revenue and link clicks.

A new status arrives within 24 hours of the points being earned and holds for the whole following quarter, Amazon's own example being Gold reached on July 15 and held through December 31. Fall short later and the downgrade lands next quarter.

What Amazon does not publish is the number. Its public page says only that each tier carries progressively higher point thresholds, and the full table sits behind sign-in. Figures for the upper tiers circulate on third party sites and appear on no public Amazon page, so they are not here. Enrollment runs through the Influencer Program, so that front door is the real gate.

The sponsorship label stacks on the disclosure you already carry

Amazon's setup steps tell the brand what belongs in its message to the creator, ending with required disclosures and naming terms like Sponsored, Advertisement or Ad. So the label arrives inside a campaign brief rather than a policy document, an odd home for it.

The word that matters is stacks. Taking a campaign does not stop you being an Associate, so the sponsorship label does not replace the affiliate disclosure your pages carry; it rides on top. What the standard program asks sits in the full Associates rulebook, what a disclosure failure costs sits in the account-closing mistakes, and placement is in the channel rules.

The Associates contract stack does not mention any of it

This is the measurement that made the article worth writing. On August 21, 2026 I pulled the full text of the US Associates Program Operating Agreement, the page headed Updated: October 15, 2025, and searched it. Creator Connections appears zero times. Creator Stars, zero. Bonus commission, zero. Influencer, zero.

Then I searched the Program Policies document, which that agreement incorporates by reference. The policies named inside include an Amazon Influencer Program Policy and an Amazon Creator Ads Boost Program Policy. Creator Connections, Creator Stars and bonus commission each appear zero times.

The shape is clear. Amazon gave the Influencer Program a named policy document inside the Associates contract stack, gave Creator Ads Boost one as well, and has given Creator Connections none. The separate Terms and Conditions a brand accepts could not be found on the open web that day. None of this makes the program unofficial; the pages are Amazon's and the campaign lives in Amazon's console. It means the document governing your affiliate account does not describe this program, and the one that does is not published where you can read it.

What a site owner can actually do with this

One question sits under all of this: whether someone running a review site rather than a social account can get in. Amazon has not answered it, so go and get your own answer.

  • Open Associates Central and look under the Promotion tab. Whether the entry exists in your account is the only answer that belongs to you rather than a help page.
  • If it is missing, the eligibility list names what to check first: Influencer Program participation, then a Bronze tier.
  • Treat a bonus rate as a campaign parameter, not a rate card. It lasts for that campaign's dates, and afterwards only the end date or budget can move.
  • Read a creator message as a brief with a labeling requirement in it, and check that against the disclosure your pages carry.
  • Do not assume these sales behave like ordinary referrals for account purposes. Amazon has not published whether they do.

I run Amazon Associates accounts in the US, UK and Germany and build affiliate sites for other people at usebravery, so an unfamiliar Amazon program is a contract question first. Here the contract search came back empty twice, and that empty result is the most useful thing on this page.

Sıkça sorulan sorular

What is Amazon Creator Connections?

Amazon's help center describes it as its marketplace service connecting brands on Amazon with Amazon Creators, letting brands offer bonus commissions in exchange for qualifying sales generated by creator content. The brand picks products, sets the rate and dates, and allocates a budget.

Does Creator Connections replace Amazon Associates?

No. Amazon files it under ways to earn on top of your standard rates, and the entry point it names is Associates Central under the Promotion tab. Category rates are unaffected, and a bonus applies only inside a campaign a creator opted into.

Do you need the Amazon Influencer Program to join Creator Connections?

Amazon's two sides answer differently. The advertising help page lists Influencer Program participation and a Bronze tier in Creator Stars as creator eligibility requirements. The How to Earn Guide calls it free to join for influencers and associates and mentions neither. Nothing found on August 21, 2026 reconciles them.

What is Creator Stars?

A tiered program with four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Amazon says creators eligible and in good standing with the Amazon Influencer Program are enrolled automatically, with criteria of at least 100 link clicks or at least $1 in shipped revenue in the previous quarter.

What are the Creator Stars point thresholds?

Amazon's public page says only that each tier carries progressively higher point thresholds, and puts the full table behind a sign-in. Figures for the upper tiers circulate on third party sites and appear on no public Amazon page, so this article does not repeat them.

What is an Affiliate+ campaign?

The campaign type a brand selects inside Creator Connections. Amazon's setup steps say to click Create Request next to the brand, then select Affiliate+ campaign. On the creator side it is a bonus commission for qualified sales, available at Bronze tier and above.

How high is the bonus commission rate?

Amazon publishes a floor rather than a range. The brand sets the percentage creators receive for qualifying sales, minimum 10%, calculated on the net price paid after coupons and discounts. Typical rates are not published, and figures quoted elsewhere are not Amazon's.

How long does a Creator Connections click stay attributed?

Amazon states that sales are attributed when the customer purchases within 24 hours of clicking a creator's link. It also notes orders may be attributed even when clicks show as zero, because content submission by creators is not mandatory for attribution.

Is Creator Connections available in the United Kingdom and Germany?

No Creator Connections page for either marketplace could be found on August 21, 2026, and the brand side requires a US advertising account based in the United States, China or Hong Kong. That is an absence of published material, not a statement that the program is unavailable there.

Do Creator Connections sales count toward the Associates approval requirement?

Amazon does not address it on any page found. How qualifying sales are counted for approval sits in the standard Associates rules, but whether a bonus campaign sale behaves the same way has not been published.
